Designing a restaurant - NOMI, with the fusion of Mediterranean living and the boho style decor as the core inspiration was a challenging yet immensely rewarding experience for us as designers. The idea to blend these diverse inspirations came to us during one of our trips. 

We were captivated by the relaxed lifestyle, the vibrant colors, and the rich

history of the region. At the same time, the free-spirited, artistic, and

unconventional ethos of bohemian culture always drew our attention.

And the allure of Egyptian hieroglyphs and the mysteries of ancient Egypt added a layer of fascination to the project.

To further enhance the Mediterranean ambiance, incorporating architectural elements inspired by the region was apt. Arched doorways and windows were integrated into the restaurant's design. Paper folding ceiling along with a stamp concrete floor added rustic charm and a sense of authenticity to the space. These details contributed to the overall Mediterranean architectural aesthetic.

Mediterranean-inspired tableware, such as colorful ceramics, terracotta plates, and glassware with intricate designs, abstract hieroglyphic art adorn the walls. Hanging pendants with geometric shapes reminiscent of Egyptian motifs are strategically placed to highlight specific areas. Polished wooden tables with concrete base in limestone color inlays bring Mediterranean flair to the dining experience.

Mediterranean living is closely connected to nature, so we integrated abundant natural materials and fabrics into the restaurant's decor. The ambience merged with various natural elements such as wood, clay, jute and linen were created for the patrons to immerse into the ambience. Bohemian textiles like tapestries, throws, and pillows are layered throughout the space. Antique brass or copper accents with blends of ceramics were used to give a touch of opulence, mirroring the richness of ancient Egyptian culture..

One of the highlights of this restaurant design was the creation of an enchanting outdoor dining area. We wanted guests to experience an unique lifestyle of al fresco dining. Tables and chairs with comfortable cushions were placed beneath. The ambiance was completed with soft outdoor lighting, with an enchanting experiential amphitheater style seating, infusing the space with the scents of the Mediterranean.
